Curious how we got started?
Harijap Fuller ("Hud") started Grass Roots Landscaping in 2001. He grew up in Leverett, Massachusetts.
After graduating from Leverett Elementary School he began homeschooling during which time he had several real-life job/work experiences. He helped with the construction of his parents new home in Leverett and worked on a farm. He learned several trades and loves to work outside and get things done!
When the construction of his family's new home was complete, he mowed the field around their home. At the age of 16 he got his GED diploma, drivers license and he bought a trailer and started mowing lawns for some friends. He enjoyed working outside and decided to turn it into a legitimate business.
Since then the business has grown from mowing lawns to all aspects of landscape maintenance and construction with four employees. His family has also grown--Hud lives with his wife, Siri Om, who manages the office, and their 3 children, Dayal, 12, Ravi, 8 and Akashi, 17 months in Leverett. In 2015, Grass Roots Landscaping began working with Isaiah Robison (see bio below). Together, Hud and Isaiah bring decades of experience using all different kinds of stone to create incredible landscapes at your homes and businesses throughout the Pioneer Valley.
Our goal is to offer outstanding quality of service to you for a reasonable and competitive price while still enjoying the work. We love making it look good!
About Isaiah:
Isaiah Robison joined forces with the Grass Roots team in 2015. Before that he had worked for nearly 15 years for a region renowned landscape design company that specialized in Goshen stone installations of all types. In addition to this experience he worked for a small handful of other companies doing excavation, tree work and land clearing. All of these work experiences make him a valuable asset to the Grass Roots team.
Isaiah was first exposed to landscape construction in middle school, working as summer time labor. He continued to work throughout the summers with the same company. He learned how to shape and set stones for walls, patios, and walkways. He also learned how to safely and efficiently operate the equipment needed for these type of jobs. Isaiah attended the Stockbridge School of Agriculture at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where he received his associates degree in landscape construction.
While never leaving the area, Isaiah lives with his with wife Tina and two of their children, 8 year old son Xavier, and 4 year old daughter, Rhea. Xavier with his excitement for all construction machines may soon be the next skid steer operator along side Ravi in the excavator.
Isaiah was welcomed to the Grass Roots team in 2015 with open arms and strives to bring excellence in all the scopes of the Grass Roots business.
